Trust

Ah...right now, such a good moment is happening. :-D

So, since we brought Moe home, he has followed us everywhere.

Even if he is fast asleep on the couch, he would wake up the minute that he heard me or resident hubby getting up or walking around. This posed a bit of an issue because I felt guilty even getting up to get a drink or go to the bathroom. I would end up sitting for hours on our couch with our sleeping pug...surfing the web and keeping quiet.

We knew that it would take some time for him to trust us and know that we weren't going anywhere...or that we would be returning if we left...and that this is his home, too.

Despite this behavior being really, really cute...and resident hubby and I understanding that he was just afraid, it's a bit stressful to feel guilty for going to the bathroom. :) (If he doesn't get his naps, he yawns and yawns and yawns...)

So, I just put Moe to bed in our bed...shut off the lights...and then he watched resident hubby and I walk out of the room. Instead of jumping and seeing what we were up to, he's still curled in our bed, fast asleep. I walked back into the room to grab something (okay, and to further test out his comfort level :-P) and Moe looked at me...and then went back to bed. :)

Resident hubby and I hugged each other because Moe finally trusts us a bit. :) It's such a cute thing to witness...

Afterwards, with a sleeping pug staying in bed and the world before me, I looked and resident hubby and exclaimed, "I don't even know what to do right now with my freedom!"

I know, I'm such a nerd. :-P
